Bom dia! 🌿 Conscious world travelers with a massively positive attitude — that’s us! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to become part of Quinta das Riquezas, our home, our guesthouse, our gardens and our way of life in the beautiful center of Portugal. After a lot of dreaming, planning and hard work, we welcomed our first guests in July. Now the focus has shifted from creating the Quinta to running, caring for and enjoying it. We are looking for people who enjoy being outdoors, working with their hands, taking initiative and helping create a warm and welcoming place for our guests. Our preference is for people who want to stay a little longer, with a minimum stay of 3 weeks. We can host a maximum of 2 volunteers at a time, so you really become part of our little team. Become part of Quinta das Riquezas For the time you are with us, you become part of Quinta das Riquezas. This is our home, our business, our gardens and our way of life. Together we create a place where guests can slow down, enjoy nature and experience genuine hospitality. We believe the best places are created by people who care — care for each other, our guests, the animals, the gardens and all the little details that make a difference. Whether we are preparing breakfast, taking care of the garden, preparing rooms for new guests, preserving the harvest or sharing a meal after a day's work, everyone contributes. We don't expect perfection. What we do appreciate is initiative, respect, positivity and a willingness to help wherever needed. In return, we hope you feel at home, learn new things, enjoy Quinta das Riquezas and leave with great memories. What will you be doing? You will help us with the day-to-day care of Quinta das Riquezas. The work we have to offer is mainly a combination of: 🌿 Garden work and taking care of our land 🧹 Housekeeping and preparing rooms and common areas for our guests 🍓 Food preserving & preparation — making jams, drying fruit and herbs, preparing homemade lemonades, preserving seasonal produce and finding creative ways to make the most of what our garden provides 🔧 General maintenance around the Quinta 🐝 Helping take care of the animals, gardens and outdoor spaces 🏡 Helping wherever needed to keep the guesthouse running smoothly Our preference goes to volunteers who have experience in gardening and/or working with garden machines, and people who are comfortable working independently. You don't need to be an expert in everything. We are looking for people who are practical, reliable and happy to get involved. If you have a green thumb, enjoy working with fresh produce and preserving food, love keeping things clean and organized, have experience with garden machinery or simply have a natural talent for fixing and maintaining things, we would love to hear from you. And if you can convince us otherwise… we are always open to surprises! 😉 Working together We work as a team and share the tasks that need to be done. The rhythm of the work depends on the guesthouse, the weather, the garden and what is happening at the Quinta. Some days will be busier than others, while other days give us more time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We value people who can work independently, take initiative and see what needs to be done, but we also enjoy working together. Most importantly, we want the balance between contributing, learning, having fun and enjoying the Quinta to feel natural for everyone. Life at the Quinta We want your stay to be about much more than work. We eat together, share stories and ideas, make music, relax and enjoy life. We live with our two dogs, chickens and bees, and we can host a maximum of two volunteers at a time. So yes, you will be part of our little team — and hopefully part of our family atmosphere too. We also encourage you to bring a friend! We live close to a beautiful river and mountains, with plenty of opportunities for swimming, wakeboarding, hiking and trail walking. And after some hard work, there is nothing better than some serious relaxation. We have a natural swimming pool, sauna and pool bar waiting for you. Hard work and great moments of relaxation — we believe in both. Food We generally eat plant-based food, although having a piece of meat now and then is absolutely fine. We prepare a fresh, healthy and nutritious lunch and dinner every day. Breakfast is yours to prepare yourself, so you can start your day exactly the way you like. And yes — we have Starlink super-fast internet, so you can stay connected when you want to. Getting here It is important that you are able to come to the Quinta using your own transport or arrange your own transportation to and from the property. You can fly to Lisbon and take a bus to Tomar. From Tomar, you will need to arrange your own way to the Quinta. Please take this into consideration when planning your trip. Who are we looking for? Most of all, we are looking for people with a great personality and a positive attitude. We appreciate volunteers who are: Independent and proactive Happy to get their hands dirty Respectful of our home and way of life Comfortable with physical work Curious and willing to learn Flexible when plans change Interested in nature, gardening and sustainable living Happy to contribute to the team Able to enjoy both hard work and relaxation Tell us about yourself The more you share with us about yourself, the easier it becomes for us to decide if we are a good match. We would love to know: What is your motivation to come to Quinta das Riquezas? What skills and experience can you contribute? What would you like to learn while you are here? And please tell us a little about yourself, your previous experiences and what kind of volunteer experience you are looking for. Come and have a look Our guesthouse is now open, and we would love for you to get an idea of the place before you come. You can also check our website, Instagram or Facebook for a sneak preview of life at Quinta das Riquezas. We are no longer building the dream. We are living it. 🌿 And we would love to share part of that experience with you. Tchau-Tchau, Pieter & Marcella

My stay with you was such a wonderful experience, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better first WWOOF host. From the moment I arrived, you made me feel so welcome and at home, and your kindness and hospitality meant a lot to me. The work was always varied, so every day brought something new to learn and experience. Whenever I was doing something for the first time, you took the time to explain everything clearly and guide me step by step, which made me feel confident and supported throughout my stay. The food was excellent! There was always plenty to eat, and I never had to worry about being hungry. I especially appreciated that there were always snacks and something available whenever I felt like eating. On top of all that, the place itself is absolutely beautiful. The farm is peaceful and charming, and the surrounding area is just as stunning. Thank you for making my first WWOOF experience so special. I will always remember my time here with a smile, and Im excited to see what’s next for the quinta in the future. Obrigada ❤️

We had an excellent experience with Marcella and Piter at the Quinta das Riquesas. The welcome was very warm from the moment we arrived, and the atmosphere stayed friendly, human, and caring throughout our stay. Piter is full of energy, always ready to suggest motivating challenges, with a little "crazy" side that makes the experience even more memorable (and often very funny). With Piter, there are no problems, only challenges. Marcella brings great kindness and generosity, especially through her delicious cooking made with high-quality local products. The tasks were varied and enriching. We did manual work in a beautiful natural setting, as well as more challenging tasks adapted to our skills, especially in electricity (installations, connections, systems, pumps, lighting, etc.). This allowed us to learn a lot while feeling useful and valued. After a good day of work, nothing beats a comforting beer prepared by Piter to share a friendly moment. We must also mention the lovely house dog, who is truly part of the experience and adds to the warm atmosphere. The balance between work and freedom was very enjoyable, giving us time to explore Portugal on weekends. It is an authentic, inspiring, and deeply In summary, this trip was "SUPER COOL".

It was my first volunteer experience and I enjoyed it very much! Marcella & Pieter are very warm hosts and will make you feel right at home. The tasks can vary depending on what you’re good at, what you like and what the priority is at that moment; in my case mostly painting! Everything was well explained and with an open attitude, clear time-schedule and good communication you really know what is expected from you -> which is very much appreciated! To me it felt extra great to work and help them fulfil the quinta of everyone’s dreams, because their passion for the project is contagious. In return you will get the best food, all fresh and made with lots of love. A stay that was very luxorious, including an occasional sauna moment ;) And I also found the area around the quinta very beautiful; which I explored partly by myself but Pieter & Marcella also invited me to go with them on little trips. They were very willing to share all their knowledge, as well as personal stories. Many laughs, meals, cakes (thankyou for letting me use the kitchen to bake <3) and paintbrushes were shared during my stay! I really learned a lot and had an amazing experience, no surprise I will be back soon!!:) Muito obrigada!!

Marcella and Pieter kindly welcomed us earlier than planned, after a first wwoofing experience that unfortunately did not go as expected. They greeted us with open arms, and we immediately felt comfortable with them. They are truly exceptional hosts. They even upgraded our accommodation by offering us to stay in one of their freshly renovated rooms: beautiful, comfortable, and private. During your stay, you will enjoy some of the best food of your life. Marcella is an incredible and inspiring chef, always experimenting with new recipes made entirely from their garden’s produce. 👩🏼‍🍳🫑 They are two truly inspiring people, emotionally intelligent, and filled with an incredibly positive mindset. They will gladly take you along on their wonderful adventure with their two dogs, Canis and Boneca. 🐶🐕 Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay as long as planned due to personal reasons, but they showed us immense kindness, support, and care. Our conversations with them gave us wonderful advice that changed the way we see things moving forward. Marcella and Pieter, thank you!

My first WWOOF experience - and they’ve set the bar incredibly high! I truly enjoyed my time with Pieter and Marcella and could not have asked for a better experience. From the very first day, I was welcomed with open hearts and felt like I could truly be myself - and that meant a lot to me. I had the chance to help with various tasks: working in the garden, helping with some renovation projects, and supporting daily activities. The work was meaningful and well-paced, and I always felt supported and trusted. I was lucky to stay in one of their beautifully renovated rooms - a true gift that reflected how kind they are. The food made by Marcella was absolutely incredible - some of the best vegetarian meals I’ve had in years - made with fresh ingredients picked straight from their organic garden. Outside of work, they made space for me to rest, explore the area, join local gatherings, and feel part of their world. My personal space was always respected, while the conversations we shared made me feel deeply connected. The land, the home, and the people — all carry a sense of magic. ☺️
