My idea of agriculture is “not cultivate”. I try to make the right conditions to allow the plants to grow naturally following their own fate. My micro project is located in the neighbourhood of a small village in the country side. People here grows corn and rice with is very good to the flies. You can reach the train station in a half hour walking and from there you are 11 Km from Figueira da Foz (beach).
How is the farm? The farm is a small project that looks like will never be finished! I live here since 2002. My idea of agriculture is “not cultivate”. I try to make the right conditions to allow the plants to grow naturally following their own fate. The pioneer of this approach is Fucuoka. My wish is to adapt this basic system to the conditions in Portugal. The ground isn’t dig, without chemicals and without compost. The land is in change from organic farming to integral farming. What you can do here? This is a good question … it is always something to be done. You can sort seeds, work in a natural stone wall, dig a well (if you are feeling to do it ;-) ), watch the plants and nature and snail throwing . You can bake bread and prepare medicinal herbs.

Now, after abandonatet this project around 10 years, it will come back to life.
So, this year we will have a lot of construction work and gardenwork. The tornado at january desroy a little side haus and damage a roof. Woofers how will come in the next mouth have to bring some scout spirit..

Andando meia hora apanha-se o comboio e em aproximadamente 11 km chega-se à Figueira da Foz (praia).
Como é a quinta? A minha quinta é um pequeno projecto e parece que nunca vai acabar... eu vivo aqui desde 2002. A ideia de agricultura e cultivar com não-cultivar que quer dizer que tentamos criar as condições óptimos para depois as plantas seguem naturalmente seu destino. Um pioneiro desta ideia é nosso colega Fucuoka, meu desejo é de adaptar este sistema básico para Portugal. A terra não esta arado e tal, não usamos químicos e não preparamos composto. O quintal e na transformação do cultivo biológico para cultivo integral. Que há para fazer? Boa pergunta, sempre há alguma coisa. Pode ser seleccionar sementes, levantar um muro com pedras naturais, fazer um poço (se há vontade;-)), observar as plantas e natureza, lançamento dos caracóis e esmagar melgas. Pode também fazer pão e elaborar ervas medicinais.

Agora, depois de ter abandonado este projecto, ele volta a vida. Este ano vamos ter muitos trabalhos de construcção e de agricultura. A tempestade em Fevereiro estragou um anexo e danificou o teto da casa. Portanto, wwoofers que vem nas próximos meses devem trazer um espirito de escuteiro.

Anbauen durch Nicht-anbauen bedeutet, das m@n versucht so natürlich wie mögliche Bedingungen zu schaffen. Anbauen duch Nicht-anbauen beinhaltet die Aspekte der biologischen und biodynamischen anbauweisen und geht darüber hinaus. Dieser Anbaustil versucht die Natur zu beobachten und es ihr nachzumachen.
Ein Pionier dieser ganzheitlichen Idee ist Kollege Fukuoka in Japan, mein Wunsch ist es diesse Art von Anbau am Europa anzupassen und zu praktizieren. Die erde wird nicht gepflügt, umgegraben ect., es wird keine chemie verwendet und es wird kein Kompost angesetzt
Der Hof ist in Umstellung von biologischer auf ganzheitliche Bewirtung.. Welches sind die Einsatzgebiete von WWOOFerInnen: Es gibt Natursteinmauern wiederaufzurichten, Gras und ähnliches mähen/sensen, Verputzarbeiten mit Lehm, einen Gartenschuppen aus natürlichen Dingen aufbauen.
Ein Brunnen soll gegraben werden und ein Kompostklo soll entstehen. Weiter gäbe es den obligatorischen Schneckenweitwurf. Bienen gabs und wird es auch wieder geben. Das Jahr über sammele ich Wildkräuter und verarbeite sie zu Crems/tinkturen, die zum verkaufen sind. Gefragte Kräuter, die,s wild nicht/kaum gibt baue ich an .Im Sommer is Gartengiessen angesagt. Und Pflanzen beim Wachsen zuschaun. Auserdem gibt´s hier noch,n paar Ruinen, die nach Bewohner(innen) fragen”

Nun, nachdem das projekt 10 Jahre verlassen war soll es weitergehn. Dieses Jahr gibts viel kunstruktions und Gartenarbeit zu tun. Die Unwetter im Febrauar haben einen Schuppen zerstört und das Hausdach beschädigt. Also, wer in den nächten Monaten kommen will sollte etwas Pfadfingerspirit mitbringen
