Hello, we are Quinta d'Arminho!
A family of three, João (35yrs), Raquel (34yrs) and Teresa (5yrs). Our farm is a total of 10ha with forest, cultivated land and animals. We are artists and artisans and also farmers, here we are building our dream to have a fruitful ecosystem, taking care of the land, plants, animals and people.
We run a few farming operations on the farm: a CSA market garden, a small scale blueberry production, a mobile chickencoop with rainbow eggs, kunekune pigs on pasture, reforestation, beekeeping...
On Quinta d'Arminho we are very focused on growing a regenerative future for rural landscapes like ours and micro scale farming business.
Raquel and João are very curious individuals who like to experiment and explore as many solutions as possible with the mission to built at this farm a place where both nature and humans can thrive, using RA and permaculture as principles for an holistic management.
We are organic certified.
Work on the farm:
taking care of animals ( feeding, moving tractors, moving nets...)
managing the CSA garden production (seeding, plating, growing, weeding, harvesting...)
managing the blueberry field (pruning, harvesting, weeding...)
managing reforestation and forest (punning, harvesting, mulching , fire prevention, wood cutting, )
We invite the wwoofer's to be enthusiastic an motivated to be involved on our daily chores and with the farm lifestyle, we love to discuss about RA approaches, new ideas and perspectives.
From November- April we can only accommodate woofers coming with their own camper/caravan/home vehicles
Accommodation: a small caravan perfect for a couple, dry toilet, outdoor shower, kitchenette with small fridge and communal laundry machine available. (from April to October)
We can also provide parking space for caravans and other home vehicles all year round.
All the food grown at the farm is provided so volunteers can be autonomous and also shared meals with our family.
Work is usually done during the morning and on the afternoon volunteers can enjoy hiking, swim on the lake on the foot steps of our farm, we are 15km from Viseu and 60km from the top of Serra da Estrela.

Thank you so much Raquel, João and Teresa for such a wonderful stay! Quinta d'Arminho is in a beautiful setting and a really good insight into what a family can achieve with such hard work and dedication! The work was enjoyable and I was always given good instructions by Raquel on what to do and great conversations at the same time. I mostly helped prepare the garden for the upcoming season by creating new beds, planting out vegetables and weeding. Towards the end of the week I helped harvest and pack the CSA boxes. There was lots of free time in the afternoon which I was grateful for to avoid working in the heat! It was a pleasure to be part of the farm for a short time and be surrounded by all the sweet animals, thank you!

The Quinta is a lovely location to see regenerative practices in action. We were really comfortable in the caravan and we appreciate the flexibility that allowed us to travel through Portugal during the weekends. We learned a bit of different activities that don’t require previous experience or knowledge, even though we would have liked to learn more about the different processes in the Quinta that are involved. Thanks Raquel, João, Teresa and pets for a lovely stay!

Raquel, João and Theresa are carving out a little paradise on earth in my opinion. They are living and working in a very sustainable and regardful way. I am glad I could be taking part for a while.
