Who we are:
We're a Dutch-American couple in our 50s who who've traded the conventional path for nature's call. After years of global adventures, we decided to stop talking about change and actually build it. We are transforming our 4 hectares of Portuguese wilderness into a small valley paradise with organic gardens, fruit trees and our ultimate goal is to welcome a community that shares our vision.
What you'll do:
• Get your hands dirty: with construction, landscaping, and building projects. We're renovating 5 buildings and need people who aren't afraid to sweat. • Develop practical skills: learn about sustainability, landscaping, composting, construction basics, and authentic communication. • Tackle meaningful challenges: with purposeful daily work with tangible results. • Live close to the land: experience life outside and nights under the stars. • Join a mission bigger than yourself: help us build our foundation while forging connections
The place:
Our land sits in a mountain valley 25 minutes from Serta in Central Portugal. It's remote, peaceful and the kind of place where you sleep deeply. A river runs along our property, perfect for cooling off; mobile coverage is good, and WIFI, too—although we make lots of time for real conversation and stargazing.

You're someone who values action over words. You are physically strong. You’re independent but team-oriented, able to take initiative without constant direction. You communicate directly and appreciate the same in return. Most importantly, you understand this experience is 50/50—you're here to help us build our dream while discovering something valuable for yourself.
The details:
• Work is 5 hour/day x 5 days a week (meals and accommodation provided)
• Accommodation: glamping tents with comfortable beds, or park your camper/van here
• Outdoor facilities: a compost toilet and shower; or jump in our pool or the river!
• During downtime, you need to entertain yourself—we're not set up for constant socializing. It's a perfect opportunity for quality alone time.
• We make weekly trips to town for groceries, and you can join us!
