Horta do Vinagre – Werde Teil unseres naturnahen Projekts ? Horta do Vinagre – Become Part of Our Nature-Based Project ? For the past three years, we’ve been developing our small piece of land with passion and care – Horta do Vinagre. Step by step, we are creating a sustainable place where nature, community, and creativity come together. Your Stay ? You’ll be staying in a spacious, converted double-decker bus from Berlin, equipped with solar power and a fridge – a truly unique experience in the middle of nature. Right next to it, you’ll find our charming natural stone bathroom with a shower, sink, and compost-style squat toilet. Pets are very welcome! We share the land with our friendly Labrador male and Ming the cat. Work & Projects ? We aim to cultivate the land without chemical fertilizers, using natural methods instead. Current projects include: – Building terraces – Pruning citrus trees Clearing bamboo areas to plant new fruit trees (e.g. pomegranate) – Growing vegetables and herbs for daily use – Building dry stone walls to support the land We ask for flexible help in the mornings (around 4–5 hours). Afternoons are free to relax or explore. We’re always open to your ideas and skills! Life & Community ☀️ If you travel with your own van or trailer, there are plenty of nice spots to park on the land. We are located in a quiet area along a small, low-traffic country road. We also enjoy spending time together – sometimes even going for rides in our vintage cars. Food & Cooking ? We love cooking and sharing meals. Our kitchen is diverse – often Asian-inspired, but also German, Spanish, or Portuguese. We’re always happy to try new dishes together. Location ? – 15 km to the Atlantic Ocean – 15 km to Spain – approx. 40 km to Faro If you enjoy working outdoors, appreciate simple living close to nature, and want to be part of a growing project, we’d love to hear from you!

I imagined my first visit to a WWOOF farm to be completely different. In the end, I only stayed for 8 full days out of the planned 8 weeks. My work consisted of weeding the fields and carrying stones; overall, the work was not very educational, which was my original interest. In addition, I hardly received any specific work instructions and felt left alone in my daily work. Personal differences and misunderstandings with Rainer were the main reasons for the premature termination of my stay. Unfortunately, these could not be resolved or cleared up properly. I was personally insulted and threatened, both during and after my stay, and for the sake of propriety I will refrain from reproducing the “original tone”. In addition, the daily interaction didn't feel very respectful. Unfortunately, no consideration was given to the vegan diet I had announced and we agreed upon in advance. I had to buy my own food, as there was supposedly nothing vegan to buy. The “self-filtered” drinking water offered to us had an unpleasant smell, which is why I decided to boil it as a precaution. Unfortunately, there were no curtains in the sleeping area provided for me, so it was visible from the outside, which disturbed my privacy. The bus was very hot both during the day and at night. On a positive note, the beautiful surroundings are definitely worth mentioning, and I also got on well with the other Wwoofer. In the end, I decided to leave the farm earlier than planned and wouldn't go there again.

Rainer and Mila were two wonderful hosts, their kid is outstanding and the place incredible. The bus is a bit rustic but all working, part of its unique charm!
