Good day, my name is Remco Knijnenburg. I am 64 years old and single. I live in a small inn along the route to Santiago de Compostela. Many hikers pass by and I provide them with a hot meal, a nice room and a comfortable bed. I started here 2 years ago. The first house has now been completed and I am currently awaiting permits to build a second home.
At the moment i am still very busy maintaining and restoring neglected plots. Pruning, mowing and construction are my busiest activities. And of course my old dog Sam.
We can all make food together in the outdoor kitchen. Everything is possible in consultation. Iig one hot meal a day. Each has a comfortable bed. 2 people in 1 room and a very fast wifi connection here.
I live very rural and quiet so owning a car is recommended. In the area you can enjoy walking, cycling and the beautiful nature. My house is in Portela de vila verde a small part of Areias. It is located about 15 km from beautiful Tomar and is easily accessible by bus.
It would be nice to be able to work together for 3 or 4 hours a day to realize my dreams here, in a warm and friendly atmosphere where cooperation and friendliness are prerequisites
Normally we work in the morning so you can have free afternoon, but during the hot days we need to be flexible and work early morning and evening.
PROJECTS
You are invited to participate in all activities and to contribute with your ideas and experiences. Lots of pruning and fertilising of trees and shrubs depending on the season. There is also always some building work to be done (fences, paths, painting) depending on your skill and interest. I learn a lot from the internet and from friends and then just experiment.
