PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE IN ITS ENTIRETY AND MAKE SURE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION AT THE VERY BOTTOM IN YOUR APPLICATION Hi, I’m Florian. After 15 years in leadership roles, I chose to trade the abstract business world for the tangible reality of the land. Quinta Terra Boa is located on a quiet dirt path, far from the noise of streets and modern distractions. By choosing to live in harmony with the necessities of the land, we quiet the mental noise of the modern world. This creates a stillness that allows the small, everyday magic of the moment to surface. Areas you will learn and work with: Food preparation and conservation: our goal is to produce most of what we eat on the farm. Turning those beautiful fresh ingredients into tasty dishes and conserving them is as important as growing them. Compost: Healthy soil is the foundation of everything. We do hot composting, a 3 to 4-week process of turning raw ingredients, biochar, and homemade fertilizers into fertile earth. Fruit Forests: We have established two areas with approximately 150 trees planted so far, with more in the planning phase. Rainwater System: We live 100% on rainwater for both the house and the land. This involves an extensive system of collection tanks, a 500,000-liter storage tank, pump and filter systems, and irrigation. Solar Power: We are fully off-grid and energy-independent throughout the year. Vegetable Production: A kitchen garden and a field, managed in a market-garden style. Greenhouse: Here we propagate most of our vegetables and trees from seed. Chickens: Caring for our small flock is also part of the daily routine. Our rhythm is flexible and guided by the weather and current projects. We usually share breakfast between 8:00 and 9:00, then start our tasks. Lunch is a shared meal, followed by another couple of hours of work in the afternoon. Evenings are flexible—sometimes we eat and spend time together, other times everyone follows their own rhythm. Accommodation: There are two fully equipped bedrooms for volunteers and one shared bathroom. The kitchen and living room are shared social areas. As we all live under the same roof, it is essential that we are tidy and considerate of one another. For me, an organized environment is the foundation for a focused and peaceful mind; therefore, we make an effort to keep our common areas clean. This means we leave spaces as we found them—ensuring no dirty dishes are left overnight and that personal items like notebooks or chargers are kept in private areas. High-speed internet is available throughout the house. The farm is surrounded by nature and silence, yet well-connected. São Brás de Alportel is 10 minutes away (market, organic shops, cafes), and beautiful beaches are within a 20 to 40-minute drive. At the moment, there is space for two volunteers. One will focus on nourishing the group—preparing delicious meals primarily from what we produce. This requires genuine cooking skills and the flexibility to work with the seasonal harvest and food preservation (fermenting, canning, etc.). The other will focus mainly on farming and infrastructure. Of course, there will be opportunities for both to participate in all aspects of the project, depending on the current situation and the needs of the moment. However, the primary responsibilities remain our main focus. Please mention in your application which of these roles resonates more with your current journey.

Staying at Flo's was a great first WWOOFING experience, richer in good memories than anything I could have hoped for. The farm is a wonderful place, just 20 minutes from Faro, within small green hills. Different kinds of beaches can be reached within 1 hour by car. It is super quite in terms of traffic. All you hear are heaps of birds, the friendly dog, and happy chickens after laying an egg. I slept in a private room and shared the bathroom only with one other wwoofer later on. The house is in good shape. We all shared breakfast and lunch, always healthy and very tasty. With Flo, you can learn a lot about permaculture, like composting, planting, pruning, water systems, and much more. He is very passionate about the garden and loves to explain but can also hold silence. I worked around 5 hours on most days and had a few ones off. Overall, I am very grateful for being able to live on Flo's farm for almost 3 weeks. He was very considerate. You can feel how much he enjoys his work and he wants you to feel the same way about yours. Thank you, Flo!

We were actually Florians First official Wwoofers and visited him in December 2024. Florian lives in a beautiful mansion in his beautiful Garden with his Guardian Layla (his dog). Florian has his very own lifestyle which includes eating bio and very healthy, he has funny Friends and is quite Open for everything. He is a very clever man that build his own little paradise. On workdays we were Never exhausted or stressed and the work we had to do was not extremely hard but quite relaxing and Full with Information and things we did not know before. For him it was okay when we made pauses or worked more or less on some days, we just had to do something and the Day was alright :) He also took us shopping with him which we really liked and felt included. He also asked us if we needed some stuff even though he would not eat it and he Always provided for us. Florian is a really funny and understanding guy. He also took us to some of his favorite places and showed us a little of the beautiful Portuguese Algarve he lives in. All in all our stay was a funny and restful experience and we really enjoyed our time with Florian and especially with Layla ;) We would visit any time soon and can only recommend visiting Florian and his little paradise.
