Hello WWOOFers, I’m George. I live on a piece of land in southern Portugal where we’re building a regenerative homestead. We focus on sustainability, community, and simple living. It’s usually me and some really talented folks plus our friendly cat, dozens of chickens, and lots of wildlife (there is a forest).
Our main activities include tending the veggie garden, planting trees, composting, collecting firewood, and general land care. Depending on the season, we may also be building with natural materials. Days are structured but relaxed, with a good balance between work and rest. We love sharing what we’ve learned about off-grid systems, permaculture, and food growing.
We eat lunch together 4 times a week using fresh ingredients from the land or local markets. For breakfast and lunch, WWOOFers are welcome to help themselves from our well-stocked kitchen, and encouraged to prepare food togerher. Accommodation is simple but comfortable—private or shared rooms depending on availability in caravans and restored houses
We love cooking, making herbal teas, and playing music around the fire. Nearby, you’ll find hiking trails, quiet swimming spots, and beautiful landscapes to explore. It’s a peaceful area, perfect for nature lovers. Bikes available. Musicians are welcome to jam! Artists have a place to be artists.
